Lamb Bone Broth
Ingredients
- 700 gms Lamb marrow bones
- 2 medium Onions thinly sliced
- 2-3 potatoes washed, peeled and halved
- 100 gms Green beans washed & halved
- 2 medium Carrots washed, peeled and cut into large pieces
- 5 Garlic cloves chopped
- 1 1/2 inch Ginger chopped
- 2 Bay leaves
- 2 inch Cinnamon
- 3-4 Green Cardamom roughly pounded
- 4-5 Cloves roughly pounded
- 8-10 black peppercorns
- 1 1/2 tbsp Oil
- Salt as per taste
- black pepper freshly ground
- 3 cups water add more if required
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker or a large thick bottomed pan on medium heat and add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and pepper corns and sautΓ© for few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced onions and the chopped ginger and garlic and fry for 2- 3 minutes.
- Then add the lamb bones and continue sautΓ©ing for few minutes.
- Then add in the veggies and turmeric and mix everything well.
- Pour the water (add more water if required) and salt. Put on the lid and pressure cook for 6-7 whistles or until cooked.Β
- Check the seasoning. Add salt if required.
- Finally add freshly ground black pepper and chopped coriander.
- Enjoy this lamb bone broth on its own or with rice or pasta.
