Keema Bread Pakora or bread fritters is a popular Indian street food. Bread slices are stuffed with flavourful keema (minced meat), dipped in gram flour (besan) batter and then deep fried to perfection. These pakora make a perfect tea time snack or even breakfast.
Hi guys!!!
Weather undoubtedly plays a role in influencing what you eat and how much you eat. The weather here has been grey and gloomy and raining since last week. And rainy day means deep fried food. 😬
I have tried to kill my temptations, but lastly here I am. This rainy weather compelled me to make this crispy crunchy spicy keema stuffed bread pakora to enjoy with my adrakwali chai.
What are the ingredients used in Bread Pakora with spiced minced meat?
Let’s list all the ingredients in parts.
Firstly we prepare the spicy keema to make the stuffing for the pakora. Let’s check out the ingredients needed for the keema.
- Minced lamb/beef/chicken
- Onions
- Green Peas ( I have used frozen peas)
- Green chillies
- Coriander leaves
- Spice powder
- Garam Masala powder
- Kasoori methi
- Coriander leaves
- Salt
- Oil
Next we make the Gram flour/ Besan batter.
- Gram flour/Besan
- Ajwain seeds (Carom seeds)
- Chilli powder
- Turmeric powder
- Salt (or as per taste)
- Pinch of hing
- pinch Baking Soda
- Water as required to make batter
And lastly we need 8 slices of large bread. I have used 50-50. You can make it with wholewheat bread too.
Prepared the keema curry first. You can make it a day earlier as well. Then stuff the bread slices with the prepared keema curry and make a sandwich. If you feel more creative you can add cheese as well. Dip it in the semi thick gram flour batter and deep fry it until crispy and golden brown. Serve bread pakora hot with chutney or ketchup.

To make the Besan batter
- In a bowl, add all the ingredients listed under batter except the water. whisk it well.

To make bread pakora
- Heat enough oil in a frying pan to deep fry the bread pakoras on medium flame.
- Lay a bread slice on a chopping board.
- Take around 2 to 3 tablespoons of the spiced keema and spread it on the bread evenly.
