Khura (Arunachali Buckwheat pancake) is a popular breakfast of Arunachal Pradesh. Khura or Buckwheat pancakes are super soft pancakes devoured with a cup of butter tea. And in our case we enjoyed with jaggery syrup.
Arunachal Pradesh or the land of Dawn-lit mountains is one of the most beautiful North Eastern states of India. As much as it is famous for its beautiful natural vegetation and monastery it is famous for various momos available there.
But today, I am sharing no momo recipe here, but popular Arunachal Pradesh breakfast “KHURA”.

Khura is soft and delicious buckwheat pancakes. These buckwheat pancakes are vegan and gluten free. Traditionally these pancakes are made with buckwheat flour (Kuttu ka atta) and chaang (locally prepared rice or millet beer), but I replaced beer with water to make KHURA.
These gluten free buckwheat pancake is served as a breakfast along with butter tea in Arunachal Pradesh. I had made these pancakes as breakfast a few days back and we enjoyed this pancakes with fresh fruits and jaggery syrup.
Soft fluffy pancakes dipped in sweet jaggery syrup. Absolutely yummm!

August 28, 2019You know this particular pancake is reminding me of a kind of ruti my dida used to make. Just can’t remember the name now, but I think it also had tiny holes and looked very similar. Anyways, I am going to try this soon. Arvind loves anything with buckwheat.
