It’s full on strawberry season here and I really do go mad when I see hand picked strawberries in the farmers market. I end up buying a whole lot of these babies which we try to enjoy in every way possible; eat it up fresh or bake with it or even make a jar full of fresh strawberry jam or make this yummy and delectable SHRIKHAND with Strawberries.
Few months back I had shared a shared a delicious and healthy shrikhand recipe made with jaggery. Here is the recipe if you wish to try.
So this time I wanted to to make shrikhand with strawberries and why not; it is so creamy and yummy and is loaded with this juicy goodness. Oh and look at that gorgeous pinkish hue on that Maharashtrian dessert. It is perfect to be served during get togethers or parties. Just fill small individual pots and serve it with nuts or chopped strawberries.
What are the ingredients used to make Strawberry Shrikhand?
Making strawberry shrikhand is extremely easy and requires only 4 ingredient. That’s it!
- Yogurt (I have used greek yogurt)
- Fresh strawberries
- Sugar/ Brown Sugar/ Sweetener/Honey
- Cardamom powder
How to make this Shrikhand?
4 simple steps are involved to make this shrikhand.
First we start by making the thick yogurt. Lay a cheese cloth on a strainer and add the yogurt in it slowly. Now bring the sides together and slowly press to remove the whey as much possible. Then keep it in the strainer with a bowl underneath and place it in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours.
Next we make the Strawberry Puree: I chop up fresh strawberries and mixed it with the sugar/ brown sugar. Then add it in the mixer grinder and make a puree.
Strain the puree: This is an optional step. I like my shrikhand smooth and creamy so I strain the strawberry puree to discard the strawberry seeds.
Make the shrikhand: Now add the thick curd in a large bowl along with strawberry puree, cardamom powder (if using honey or sweetener add it now) and mix everything together with a whisk. adjust the sweetness as per your taste.
Slowly spoon the shrikhand in serving bowls and garnish with chopped up strawberries and pistachios or any nuts of your choice. Serve it chilled as desserts.

- muslin cloth

Ingredients
- 600 grams Yogurt
- 1 1/2 cup Fresh Strawberries roughly chopped
- 3-4 tbsp Sugar/ brown sugar/ Sweetener/ Honey/
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions

- Add the chopped strawberries in a mixer grinder along with the sugar/brown sugar and ground into a puree.
- This step is optional. Strain the strawberry puree to discard the strawberry seeds (I lie my shrikhand really smooth and creamy).
- Now add the thick curd in a large bowl along with strawberry puree, cardamom powder (if using honey or sweetener add it now) and mix everything together with a whisk.
- Slowly spoon the shrikhand in serving bowls and garnish with chopped up strawberries and pistachios or any nuts of your choice.
- Serve it chilled as desserts.
